Coordinates the administration of the leave of absence programs. Responsible for monitoring and administering claims, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, benefits group, and payroll. Enters information and HR data into operational and HR related systems, ensuring that all data is accurate in all systems. Creates, pulls, distributes and explains reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes all leaves of absences according to established guidelines, including eligibility for various leave programs (e.g. family medical leave, short-term disability) and providing employees with appropriate and timely notice.
- Advises employees and supervisors on leave benefits and provide employees with accurate information related to absences such as deductions from pay, medical certification requirements, return-to-work dates, and fitness-for-duty requirements.
- Works with Safety Group on those leaves relating to workers' compensation claims.
- Maintains relationship for medical management of leaves.
- Provides to Payroll detailed pay data to ensure employees on leave are paid timely and appropriately.
- Coordinates administration of benefits for employees on leave.
- Maintains employee leave records, including confidential medical information in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations and Sentinel policies and procedures.
- Tracks absence data and provide reports to Leadership.
- Conducts onboarding for all Wilmington office new hires. Processed new hire paperwork for the organization including E-verify for I-9s. Provides support for onboarding audits.
- Performs other duties as may be required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in HR, Payroll or closely related field.
- Ability to execute independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified work load.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
- Knowledge of administration of leave programs and applicable laws, as plus.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Experience with a HR system ("HRIS"), a plus.
- Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably within an area related to Human Resources, Business Management or similar field.
- Substantial experience may substitute for college degree
